Job Retention/Job Maintenance Funding for EI Part II Eligible Clients
(Funding for Skills Upgrading)
Funding is available at FNES for job retention/job maintenance to those who have EI Reachback standing. This means that you have had a regular EI claim in the past 36 months or you began a maternity/parental EI claim in the past 60 months.
Job retention measures are those which are designed for those who are employed and to keep people working and protect their existing jobs.
This includes a variety measures:
• Driver’s License: to maintain/advance employment by obtaining:
(A) Class V to Vll
(B) Class l, Class lll, Air Brake Ticket
(C) Class lV
• Work Gear: to enhance/maintain permanent employment:
(A) Scrubs
(B) Work Boots
(C) Rain Gear
• Supplies:
(A) Flagging Paddles
(B) Chef’s knives
(C) Tree fallers equipment
• Medical Examination: maximum $75.00
• Criminal Record Checks: maximum $35.00
• Safety Certificate:
(A) WHIMIS
(B) Fall Protection
(C) Confined Spaces
(D) Food Safe
(E) OFA Levels I, II, III
NOTE: requests not listed will be assessed on a case by case basis
